Rust-coloured render and a feature limestone pier trim a portico that dominates the front elevation of WA Housing Centre’s new Sandstone display at Baldivis.
Other render walls are in complementary neutral shades, and the uncluttered roof is in light Colorbond for an overall look that is clean, contemporary and unlikely to date.
The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home is designed for rear-loaded cottage lots and has a practical zoned layout that capitalises on every square metre of internal floor space.
In the elevation, the portico shades the central front door, which opens to a broad entry hall and central thoroughfare.
To the left, the theatre room is a good size and has a broad media recess, and to the right, the main suite has a spacious sleeping area, L-shaped walk-in robe and open ensuite with corner shower, three-door vanity with extended benchtop and separate toilet.
“Thoughtful zoning puts the master suite and home theatre at the front of the home, for peace, privacy and seclusion,” said the brand manager for the, WA Housing Centre.
“The master suite offers a real retreat, with a large walk-in robe, ensuite and big windows that fill the room with natural light.”
At the back of the entry, the kitchen, dining area and living room share a long broad space linked to a big alfresco area at the back.
The underbench oven, gas hotplates and glass and steel canopy range hood are centred on a row of cabinets against the wall, between the fridge recess and pantry, and parallel to the long island bench.
Three minor bedrooms are in a wing left of the living zone, opening from a passage and serviced by a functional bathroom. Each bedroom has ample floor space and a two-door built-in robe.
The laundry is at the back of the house and has a shopper door from the double garage.
